Harley comes to visit Tony at the compound over the summer but it doesn't go exactly as he might have hoped. Who the hell is this Peter kid? He may be smart, and Tony's intern, and, okay, maybe a little bit funny, but Harley doesn't like him one bit.
Too bad Tony does.

Harley Keener is only vaguely threatening, and won't ever admit to doing something.
Stephen has had everybody else buzzing about him over his and Tony's relationship...
All except Tony's 'adopted son,' Keener.

He has no idea what’s going on around them nor does he care, not when Peter is staring up at him from under his lashes and sucking on his bottom lip. “C’mon, Pete. From what I’ve heard, I think we’d get on great, and that was before I knew you were so damn gorgeous.”

Tony Stark is dead. There was no changing that. But it didn't mean Ironman was.
In which Harley Keener is left the rights to Ironman after Tony's demise and takes it upon himself to continue the legacy Tony started.
Meanwhile Peter isn't remotely okay and seeing someone else as Ironman really fucking hurts.
AKA: Harley becomes Ironman, Peter needs a big hug and somewhere along the way, the two get to know one another.

Somehow, Tony Stark was able to wield all six Infinity Stones and come back still breathing. It shocks everyone, but the world moves on, restoring itself back to where everyone once was. But this time, however, it's without Iron Man there. It's no shock Tony retired; he has a family to take care of, including an overwhelmed Peter Parker, who's trying to figure out his (and Spider-Man's) place in the world, and whether or not he's ready to start saving it on the daily. As if he doesn't already have too much on his plate having to worry about, (such as but not limited to): his concerned aunt, a new role as an Avenger, his friends concerned about his mental state, a little five year old girl excited about her so-called brother's return, his mentor he has yet to internally accept as a true father figure, and the world's pressure on Spider-Man that he's probably overexaggerating, Tony Stark drops a seventeen year old boy at Peter Parker's feet.
They get along. Peter starts caring, more than he realizes, and finds safety in Harkey Keener.
Nobody's gonna take that away from him.
(But they'll try.)

The ex-vengers need funding and help and the only place they can think to turn is to Tony, but they are in for a surprise when they come to see him and discover there is so much they didn't know.
The ex-vengers need Tony, but Tony doesn’t need them anymore.

What if Harley saw what happened in Siberia? What if he thought Tony died there. This is story of Harley's revenge on captain America. (Not for Team Cap, also Tony is alive and will play major role in this)

I don't often bookmark and recommend WIP works, but this story has a lot of potential and does something pretty unique as far as Post-Civil War Team Iron Man fics go: A child takes up the defense of Tony and seeks to make things right. Harley Keener (he's a genius in this story, Tony Stark level genius, if that's a deal breaker) hacks into the video taken in Siberia and believes Tony is dead, especially when not a word is heard from him or about him in the weeks following. So he decides it's up to him to honor Tony's memory by setting the record straight, letting the world know who is the real villain and real hero in this story, and bring Team Cap to justice.
There are some definite editing issues, and Harley is a bit of a "Mary Sue" in how far advanced he is in programming/engineering at the age of 13 and being able to do the things he does, but the idea is pretty intriguing. Wouldn't Team Cap let their guards down to a child? Wouldn't the world listen to truths revealed by a child, who theoretically wouldn't have the kind of agendas that adults do? Isn't the public more easily swayed when children are involved? So far, after chapter 2, I find this story to be rather a refreshing twist on a Post-Civil War universe and worth recommending.
NOTE: It's too early to tell, but I don't believe this will turn into a Fix-It or Team-as-a-family story, so Team Cap people should avoid reading this.
