A small sea of red and black poured into the car and smeared itself across the remaining seats. It dripped off the handrails and pressed into windows and made the little red line embroidered on Peter’s pockets fade away into the pinkness of the pale one stretched down the edge of a ruled notebook.
Peter could not move. He could not speak.
He could no longer threaten the old man.
The train was crammed full of middle-school aged Spidermans, Daredevils, and Deadpools. The urge to throw down the glass returned, this time with the added bonus of a burning desire to run.

The camera turned, blurry for a moment, before it focused on Sam and Bobbi grappling the man.
“As expected, the Avengers have the situation immediately under control. Maybe we can get some answers before—”
The camera was brought around to focus on the stage once again as a shouted ‘holy shit’ had everyone refocusing on the podium. The image quickly zoomed in on Steve and Tony, catching most of Cap’s back. The camera moved to the left until it began to record Tony’s soulmark.
“That’s—Jesus Christ, are you getting this? We have breaking news! Here at Central Park, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark have just given each other their soulmarks! Get closer, get as much as you can!”
