Ranboo was a shy kid. He sat in the back when possible, he avoided trouble (people), he sat alone whenever he ate lunch, ya know, lone wolf.
He was also awkward, and a massive introvert.
So when he accidentally pushed his pencil off of his desk and it flopped to underneath the boy in front of hims desk, he was internally panicking.
Shoot, it was his only pencil, and they were taking notes. He was already falling behind.
He had to get the pencil back.

Ranboo laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling as the tears gathered in his eyes.
He just stared in silence, trying to hold in his urge to sob.
“Am I being abused?” he finally said.
He looked over to Dream who stared at him from the window. Dream said nothing, which was unusual for him, this is when he would usually cut it.
Ranboo just turned back to the ceiling and gave a strained chuckle.
“Of course I’m not. What am I even saying? Stupid messed up brain of mine.”
He closed his eyes as the tears continued to fall.
“They love me. They aren't doing anything wrong, it's all me. They’re just telling me what I need to hear, and it's cruel of me to ever try to suggest that it's abuse.”
He laid on his bed for a while longer, and the day's events wouldn’t stop coming back and replaying, hitting him at full force. He couldn’t take it“I’m going to read some fanfic now Dream.” He smiled and said.
“I have to clear my head, I’ll talk more with you later.”
And then he pulled up his phone.

Ranboo's parents had just dropped a bombshell on him- they were moving in two weeks, and he couldn't have an opinion about it. Hell is a shitty town with shitty people, and it's exactly where he has to live out the next two years of his teenage life until the government agrees he's an adult.
Tubbo is a newfound companion who's a bit more than attached at the hip to Ranboo. He's loud, intensely British, and will knock out the teeth of anyone who dares test him as long as it means he's kept safe from harm.
