“He won’t give me his real name. Honestly, what sort of a moniker is Peter Ransom? It’s as if I walked in and introduced myself as Buddy Larceny.”
“Mm.”
“Do you know who he is, Jet, darling?”
Jet took a sip of his tea. “I have suspicions.”In which the Lighthouse trio know Nureyev's name despite him never telling them. Their feelings on it, their considerations, and things that never were.

Peter Nureyev, private eye, had a chance encounter with a brilliant, beautiful lady who left his head spinning. Nothing prepared him to face the lady down again, nor the catastrophe that could follow. He had to admit, though: he wouldn't trade it for all of Mars.

Summary
"Alright, thief, usual drill.” Long-presumed-dead actual criminal legend Vespa Ilkay yanks out the chair on the corner across from him and starts tracing a fingertip in the air in front of his face. “What’s my name?”
Oh, good. He knows this one. He even manages to say it like it isn't a surprise to him, which he thinks is quite the achievement given the circumstances.
“Uh-huh. Your name?” He blinks. The bees in his head get louder. Behind Vespa, his… lady-friend draws himself up, gets a foreboding look about him as he opens his mouth. Vespa drops her hand. “Oh, for the love of – do not get precious with me right now. Current alias, dipshit.”
The bees subside to their previous hum. “Erm. Yes. Peter Ransom.”
She jerks her thumb over her shoulder. “And him?”
Ah. Nureyev stares back at the soft, expectant, oddly calculating look in the man’s sharp eye. Vespa called him Steel, of course, but both the chore chart and calendar sported an inconsistent hodgepodge of first names, last names, and honorifics. If he guesses wrong, any semblance of control he might have over the situation is about to be terribly short-lived.

Summary
“I have been thinking about Ransom. I know that he is our family, and I know that he would come for us. And I know that he is solitary and overconfident, and alone he could only fail.”
Jet comes to accept the Nameless Thief as family. That doesn't mean he thinks that Ransom knows what he's doing.

Summary
Mick is in the middle of a meeting with his publisher when his comms begin to blink - the name “Juno Steel” shining like an emergency flare.
"Listen, Mick, I’m calling to, uh…well, I’m calling to invite you to my wedding.”
Mick swallows the fondness and hope that flutters up through his windpipe. He knows Juno. This isn’t about friendship, this is a call for help, whether Juno is aware of it or not. And Mick made a promise to Benzaiten Steel over twenty years ago that he never planned to break.
“Wouldn’t miss it. Send over the details.”
Juno’s smile sounds incredibly genuine. Mick tries to settle his nerves.

Summary
Jet’s no genius but he knows machines. He hears the noise of pressure building, something close to combustion. “Get down!” he shouts into his comms, but he’s interrupted by a cacophony of sights and sounds.
There’s a spark of light, a burst of flame, and the metal column in the middle of the room explodes. The static of his comms malfunctioning in his ear is jarring but another sound makes his heart stop. Juno lets out a sharp noise of pain and out of the corner of his eye Jet can see the lady hit the ground hard.

Summary
The most dangerous place in the galaxy smells of spice and sounds like laughter. Peter doesn’t make a sound as he takes it all in.
“Peter,” Comes Buddy’s voice through his earpiece. Nureyev has to turn the volume on his comms back up. He’d nearly muted it to better hear the lulling music of the streets, and the chatter of his people speaking a language more familiar to him than even his lover. “Peter?”
“Yes captain? My sincerest apologies for getting distracted.”After a year spent reuniting with his crew, Peter Nureyev is back on Brahma, desperate for a place to lay low.

Juno is speaking Brahmese.
Nureyev hasn't spoken a lick of it since leaving... since he was seventeen. With a few words, Juno had just knocked over an entire file cabinet in his mind labeled 'Brahma' and Nureyev is eyeing the idea of leaving it there and pretending it hadn't made a mess.
But Juno is speaking Brahmese.
So, before Juno can get to it, Nureyev has to pick each file up, one by one.

Summary
" In Ambrose's field, names that matter tend to make themselves known. Steel is one he's heard more than once in spun yarns and fables, some hotshot sharpshot who handled the bow like a third arm. Before today, Ambrose would have considered himself impressed in the archer’s presence, but shuffling around tables with your eye glued to the floor isn’t the visage of a perfect employee."
---
Juno remembers when he lived in Hyperion, before his actions with Mayor Ramses and the Hyperion Militia made the place inhospitable to him. So he left, Rita in tow.
It’d be easier to keep Rita safe, to keep her secret, if they could hunker down in a cottage in a forest somewhere, but things don’t work like that. So the pair get a job working for the masked and mysterious Ambrose Huntese. A simple heist, nothing Juno, with a sharp shot and a sharper mind, can’t handle.
But Ambrose’s morality isn’t the only thing unmasked, and Juno finds that, with injustice creeping around every corner of his and Rita’s life, he can’t escape the role of hero. But he isn’t the only one thrown from government conspiracy to larger government conspiracy, in fact, he’s just one criminal in the handful.
A lady can get used to this. -

Summary
“But most of all, Mistah Steel wouldn’t want you to be lonely!”
Peter blinks.
“I-” he takes his head out of his arms. “He- what?”
“And you would be, right?" Rita crosses her arms. "If you left right now, you would be lonely?”
Peter breaks eye contact.
“Perhaps. Although perhaps that’s what I deserve.”

Summary
The set is beautiful, a mixed-marvel of artistry, engineering and design. Rings to sit on the first and third section of each finger, a porcelain plate against the back of the hand. Gold fans up the elbows and comes together in a starburst of a collar, the crew keeps it in the dining hall for a while.
A study of Peter Nureyev's relationship with the crew and with beauty.

Summary
A few days have passed since that moment, not nearly enough to stop my treacherous mind from digging it out of its file, studying it like I’d study a potential target. I squint through the darkness of the night and the haze of my memory in an attempt to recall the expression on Juno’s face. What I come up with, time and time again, is star-struck. His lips slightly agape, his posture open, vulnerable. It’d be ridiculously easy to push him over and watch him shatter on the floor like an expensive vase. I know what I saw, and yet I still find myself thinking back, looking for more.
