John Watson comes home from the war, gets a new job and meets Sherlock Holmes through Mike Stamford. Same tale since 1891, except this time it’s 2008, John is Sherlock’s boss, and they work together at the Dead Letter Office in London.

It's not a love story, until it finally is. (AU-ish/fusion with Herman Melville's 'Bartleby')

    Summary

A couple months ago, I was asked to write a research paper for one of my final grades in my last English course of public school. We were asked to choose a Victorian-era English novel; my teacher gave us a list, but naturally, I asked specifically for something else.

As the tags say, 'A Study in Love' delves deep into the original homo-romantic subtext, queer history references and ties, and true love demonstrated within ACD's classic tales. This is their story.

I became so intensely worried about Joan and Sherlock and their relationship post-s5 that I wrote this. In which our intrepid consulting detectives experience tribulations, and emerge from them. There is opera. There are canon references. There is possibly an intolerable deal of sentiment.

    Summary

Sherlock Holmes, the world’s only Consulting Equestrian Expert, is the individual called when horse owners are out of their depth. At the behest of his elder brother, Sherlock travels to Amarillo, Texas, to investigate why a valuable bucking stallion has seemingly gone berserk for no reason and killed his trainer. The local authorities suspect the owner of fraud and possible animal abuse, but Mycroft sees parallels to an unsolved case from the 1980s wherein a racehorse killed a groom. Complicating the situation is John Watson: bronco rider, rodeo veterinarian and one of case’s primary suspects…

Or, to put it another way: Rodeolock AU! Sherlock Holmes and John Watson running around Texas, USA in cowboy boots, Wranglers blue jeans and cowboy hats. 'Nuff said.

WIP: tends to update roughly once every two to three months.

    Summary

“You will excuse a certain abstraction of mind, my dear Watson,” said he. “Some curious facts have been submitted to me within the last twenty-four hours, and they in turn have given rise to some speculations of a more general character. I have serious thoughts of writing a small monograph upon the uses of dogs in the work of the detective."

After "The Creeping Man," Holmes' work on the uses of dogs takes a concrete turn...

    Summary

So far, the theme of season 5 seems to be that these idiots, whom I love, can't take care of themselves. So I've added hypothesized scenes where they do just that. Self-contained chapters are titled for their corresponding episodes. Tags will be updated as the work progresses. Content warnings will be appended to relevant chapters.

Like other works I write for Holmes and Watson, this one can be read as shipping-friendly but is not shipping-explicit. That said, I'm new to writing for Elementary, so would welcome suggestions for how best to tag this take on their passionate, category-defying relationship so that those who want to find it can.

Hello and thank you for waiting so patiently for Part 4!

Slight change in format; I've made the chapters shorter, but that means there are more chapters. The plan is to post once a week until this fic is out of WIP hell. Then I'll post twice a week (real life allowing...)

There is another fandom in this fic that's not tagged because of spoilers.

Huge thanks and love to my beta cadoganwest, who betas with a migraine. You don't get much more BAMF than that. XOXO.

SO - let's start this story off with a trigger warning for violence and a promise of smut!

Thank you for sticking with me and this story for so long and all the comments, kudos, bookmarks and subscriptions :^)

"From this point onward I will follow the course of events by transcribing my own letters to Mr. Sherlock Holmes which lie before me on the table. One page is missing, but otherwise they are exactly as written and show my feelings and suspicions of the moment more accurately than my memory, clear as it is upon these tragic events, can possibly do."

    Summary

Well, this is basically a ramble, inspired by a very angry person who believes that discussing any view but hers is somehow rude to her. So - I took her at her word and decided to toss some ideas out there and if you don't like them or see things in a different way - I am all about the fun of discussion. This is how I perceive some things on this show. To begin - a monograph on why Mary is not necessarily a good person but that she isn't an evil ogre either. I will see how this goes and if I get a few sane people who also like to share ideas rather than spew vitriol then we will continue on with such topics as Mycroft is an unsung hero and John is not a cuddly man. Please feel free to disagree but just keep it in the realm of decorum. Thanks for reading.

    Summary

In the last days of the First World War, Dr. Watson returns from the service for which he departed in "His Last Bow," and looks for a new kind of work. He joins Dr. Arthur Hurst in his pioneering treatment of shell-shocked soldiers. But their work on the forefront of medical research, locked in battle against the destruction of the war, is disrupted by violent death. In addition to the obvious danger near at hand, there is the risk that this will discredit Hurst’s unusual methods. Dr. Watson does the only thing he can do: he calls in Holmes. The case will require their joint expertise, and all the wisdom of their shared experience.

This fic includes lots of emotional conversations, history, architecture, parlor music, and literary allusions. It is appearing in fortnightly installments (every other Sunday), and should be published in its entirety by February 2018.

Post-completion note for the curious: this does not explicitly ship Holmes and Watson, but is designed to be shipping- and shipper-friendly.

    Summary

While dealing with his mad brother and the psychiatrist profiting from Sherlock's delusions, his Honour, Judge Mycroft Holmes works closely with his live-in lover, Inspector Gregory Lestrade, in finding justice for an innocent young female prostitute accused of murder.

NOTE: This is an original Sherlock Holmes story, much in the vein of what I started with 'A Most Delicate Condition' and using that universe within this story. I do have it planned out at fifteen chapters and I hope to have a chapter a week put up on a regular basis. While I am doing a lot of research for this, if you read this and do find a historical nag, please let me know!

I hope you enjoy it! I'm addicted to Mystrade and I'm hoping this will fuel more!

“Who should I sign it to?” The familiar question rolls off his lips easily, but somehow it feels more meaningful this time. He’s never met a fan quite so dedicated, quite so willing to lug an entire armful of books to get them all signed, quite so handsome even when he blushes.
    “Er… Sherlock,” the man replies.
AU in which John is an author, and Sherlock is a fan who comes to his book signing.

    Summary

I started this story as an original m/m work but it kept stalling due to a) the characters not being the right gender for the fit of the plot and b) I really wanted to write an 'opposite' story to the one I wrote in 'A Case Of Bad Diction', where the Mystrade is set in modern times but with the characters completely shuffled and changed into an original shape. There are many published authors who have taken their love of Doyle's work and used it more as a writing prompt than a place of canonical severity (Sherlock Holmes vs. The Martians, anyone?). So...Here we are!

Mycroft Holmes, professional thief, is annoyed by her girlfriend's distraction over a set of human luggage sitting in a St. Mary's morgue. That said luggage was being used to mule hard drugs into London by the Crown Cartel is an added irritation. All Mycroft really wants is for DI Grace Lestrade to play house with her and revel in her Belgravia estate and all its pretty baubles, but even this is marred by her post-modernist neighbours with their chrome and glass monstrosity next door. Worse still, they are neglecting their borzoi. Who knew dog thieving and corpses stuffed with drugs would go hand in hand?

    Summary

A sequel to Neil Gaiman's brilliant "A Study in Emerald," this explores the development of Holmes & Watson's relationship as they begin their work as Restorationists in a London ruled by the Old Ones.

"I forbore to mention that we were sitting under a pile of ancient quilts in an under-heated garret, fugitives from the law, fed only by the charity of a mysterious but pragmatic Scotswoman. It would have seemed tactless in the face of his boundless confidence."

    Summary

The snow was falling again, heavier and larger now, and up in the trees the ravens complained to each other about the state of it. Greg rifled in his coat for his emergency stash, then shook out a cigarette and his lighter.

    "One more, please," said Mycroft.

    Greg peered at him. "Really?"

    "It's been a disconcerting day."

As far as Greg was concerned, the only Dickensian thing likely was the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come manifesting in the fireplace and ushering them all to hell.
