Growing up in Mondstadt with her brother, Lumine had always heard about the tale of how the Anemo God, Barbatos, fought to secure their freedom from being taken by a powerful witch. And though he won the battle, the witch had the last laugh as a curse was placed upon him causing him to fall into a deep slumber. He would remain in that state until he was awoken by a kiss from a maiden blessed by a star's light.
Though the story itself felt a bit ludicrous to her, Lumine did feel there was a grain of truth to it, as according to those same stories, the same day he closed his eyes five centuries ago also began a series of trials that caused many to fear would bring an end to the land he protected.
And to top it all off, Lumine has been having strange dreams as of late that consists of a strange green-garbed bard who bares a startling resemblance to the God of Freedom that is so revered.

He bestowed a curse upon my boy, decreeing that he would perish before the sun set on his second birthday. A good ally and Ozai's brother, Iroh, was able to cast some magic of his own, lessening the curse so that Zuko would be permitted to live until his eighteenth birthday - but should he be exposed to fire before the sun sets on that day, he will fall into a deep and unbreakable sleep for the remainder of his days. I write this letter to you just after I have given my son to Iroh, who will hopefully take care of him and keep him away from harm until the curse has passed.

Voldemort curses the young princess and announces that she will die by pricking his chest on the spindle of a spinning wheel before sunset on his eighteenth birthday. Fortunately, one of the good faes, Severus Snape, changes the spell so Draco will fall into a deep sleep instead, and the only way there is to wake him from his sleep will be a true love's kiss.
