The wedding—though held only in Alibi’s duty second floor decorated in a gaudy art-project-like manner—was short and simple; just the way Mickey preferred.
What came after, though, was completely different.
Mickey may have won for the ceremony but the after-party was a completely different story.

The world splits and bursts in a diaphanous rain which shows, through distended and misshapen fragments – the thing. And through all these diopters, these prisms of a breaking consciousness, he feels all that it feels. And all its brutality, colossal when compared with the rest of the worlds, invades and flows inside him, pumped in and out by his heart, feeding into his organs. And all of Izuku’s apotropaic goodwill is not enough to keep it at bay, and his goodwill wilts, and melts like snow before the sun.
His eyes become two curved slits as a perverse smile stretches his cracked lips. His pupils, usually two beautiful emeralds, are naught but twin vats of acid, ready to dissolve the Heroes reckless enough to cross his path.
“Where are you?”
When Izuku is offered the opportunity to join the villains in their quest to slaughter the heroes, he hesitates for a split seconds. Then, he reflects it does not change from his routine, and at least it will sate the ravenous hunger splitting his insides and quartering him.
To Shigaraki Tomura, having Izuku aboard is like entering a cheat code.

Charles, a miner from a poor village in the countryside, saves the life of Erik Lehnsherr, scion of a successful business family and the richest man on the planet Eisen. Charles is a telepath and somewhat anxious about it, while Erik abstains from relationships because the lights flicker and doors open and electronics vibrate when he gets too excited.
Also featuring a long-suffering sister, a foul-mouthed bodyguard, and a best friend with a heart that is definitely not gold.
In which there are princes, spaceships, long journeys, and old secrets uncovered. (An AU sci-fi fairytale)

What an incredibly marvelous story: epic in scale, meticulous and believable world-building, gripping plot and characters that you can love and relate to. Can't say enough good things about it. Charles is a miner with a little je ne sais quoi, and Erik is the lonely, curious Master of the planet who cares for him as he recovers from what should have been a paralyzing accident when he threw himself in the way to rescue Erik (unknown to him at that time). Plot interferes with their growing relationship, as it so often will, and the story takes on a galaxy-wide scale, mixing the present with the past and incorporating mythology and the reason stories of truth become mythos in the first place.
*** The Vines and the living ships are just a tantalizing bit of inspired (and well-thought-out) creativity.***
FUCK. Just read it again (4/18) and it's even better as it ages. This is a WORK OF ART, and epic, and complex, and you CARE, you really do, about everyone and what is happening. What a masterpiece, and privileged are we to share in it.
Loved it. Again and again.
