No I wound up with a half crazy vampire that kept shifting forms, okay she was mostly crazy.
Anyway Jace is an alternative reality Jace and his from the vampire masquerade world is new to this TV Shadowhunters universe. Alec meets Jace after Alec is asked to welcome the new clan to New York. Prince Lettlow and emissary because prince's don't meet mortals. (So slightly non canon Lettlow cause he's not really like that.)

There are rumors that yet again the powerful Warlock Magnus Bane is harboring Downworld fugitives. Alec and Jace, who are in a secret relationship, are sent to investigate and spy on Magnus in an undercover mission. The Clave devises a scenario to make their cover believable: Alec and Jace are stripped of all their runes, save for the Parabatai rune, and ordered away as outcasts.
Given the chance to be finally free from the Clave’s prying eyes, Alec and Jace accept the mission and go undercover. They start to work for Magnus in his club, Pandemonium. Soon they realize that Magnus is not as evil as the Clave paints him to be and they start to fall for the charismatic Warlock, who seems interested in them as well.
Given a final ultimatum by the Clave, the two Shadowhunters need to decide if they follow their hearts or stay loyal to the Clave…
