"We meet here today to honor the life of a national hero, taken from the world all too soon by the villainous acts of..."
Shouta looks at his watch. It's been exactly two minutes and twenty-three seconds since the last time he'd checked it. The mechanical tick-tick-tick of the second hand soothes him, allows him to focus on something other than the unfamiliar faces that've come to 'pay their respects' to the fallen Symbol of Peace. Toshinori's funeral is a fucking spectacle, with individuals from across Japan pouring in in droves just to say that they threw a flower on his grave. It makes him sick.
- Part 1 of A World Without Peace
23 Feb 2019
September is in full swing and Aizawa Shouta is trying to walk a tightrope between being an educator and dealing with All Might, while simultaneously trying not to deal with All Might. Honestly, could the guy just back off? Aizawa would love it if he did. Still, he's doing better in class, and that's at least something.
Stress is building and there's no release in sight. A new mission calls, teaching duties are still in play and Aizawa's evening is ruined when things go wrong in the dead night at the teachers' dorms. Getting to see what the "blessing" of Kamino really is, a barrier finally begins to break. Sitting through the long dark night with someone in need isn't easy, but it's a good way to finally understand that they have a battle they're fighting alone, and one that is never going to stop.
That doesn't stop him from royally fucking it up. Rationality rams up against empathy, and one of those two things is going to come out the loser when it comes down to it.
