Sing Goddess of the forgotten women, whose silence speaks a thousand words to us today, whose stories must be crafted from air and rumour for how they were overlooked, those wretched forgotten women who raged and lived.

Briseis the Once-Queen is a figure most well known as being blamed for the quarrel between Achilles and Agamemnon. It is lost to the world as to what happened to her after the events of the Iliad. As one of the few prominent women of the epic, I think it is time to give her a voice that does more the weep, but shouts, scorns and spits blood.

"Achilles there’s a new kid at school that (I think) is your type and has the locker next to you."

    ~~

Patroclus hadn't wanted to move but then who did? He hadn't wanted to start a new school in the middle of the year. Until Achilles had walked into his English class and smiled.

Cue friends, drama, way too much handholding and love.

    ~~

Or the Modern High School Illiad that's been in my head since I was a first-year senior in school.

    Summary

“Don’t you see?!” Cassandra demands, grabbing Nestor by the shoulders and shaking him. Patroclus watches the show with mild interest. “There are cool kids and there are losers, there are jocks and rich kids and geeks and goths and stoners and everything in between, and what we’re about to enter is a swirling vortex of horror wherein they all intermix.”

Or, in which Patroclus pines after Achilles, Achilles pines after Patroclus, Briseis plays matchmaker, Odysseus has bad ideas, Diomedes has worse ones, Agamemnon sucks, Menelaus can't hold down a girlfriend, and the entire school goes to war.

Yet another retelling of the Trojan War cycle.
Tired of those yet? But we all know there can never be too many.
Let's try to approach it from the beginning.
And... not disrespect the source material too much, if possible.

Mysterious are the ways of fate, unlikely soulmates brought together by the gods to stop a war meant to last decades.

UPDATE: I decided to put the story on HIATUS due to lack of inspiration. I will focus instead on another fic that I hope to finish, and I will try to get back to this one as soon as possible because there are definitely enough ideas to continue, but not enough inspiration to write. Thank you for your understanding!

    Summary

'“Diomedian compulsion”: a proverbial expression […] Others say that Diomedes and Odysseus were on their way back from Troy at night after stealing the Palladium, and Odysseus, who was behind Diomedes, intended to kill him; but in the moonlight Diomedes saw the shadow of his sword, turned round, overpowered Odysseus, tied him up, and forced him to go ahead by beating his back with his sword. The expression is applied to people who do something under compulsion.' (Pausanias)

Or: that time Odysseus literally tried to stab his bff in the back
