Summary
Some families pass on watches, furniture, recipes, or books from generation-to-generation; the Klinger family pass on dresses.
It’s 1965 and 18-year-old Jamil Klinger has just received his draft papers. His father sends him to Missouri to visit a cousin he says is the custodian of a family tradition which can help Jamil dodge the draft. But Jamil’s cousin gives him something which has far more impact on his life than just a way to evade the draft.
----
“The Klinger clan has a unique solution when it comes to avoiding military service.”
“What’s that?”
“Insanity!” Said Max with a flourish of his hand.
“I… uh…” Jamil faltered. This really had been a wasted trip.
Max clocked Jamil’s discomfort. “Oh, it’s a fool-proof technique. Guaranteed to work.”
“Didn’t you serve in Korea?” Asked Jamil.
“Yeah… Sometimes it fails,” Max admitted. “But I was this close to getting my section 8 discharge.”
“Okay…” Jamil said. He’d come this far. He may as well find out what this was all about now he was here. -

Summary
Told step by step in tandem with the canon of the show, this is the story of two of the best people at the 4077 M.A.S.H. discovering just what it means to really need someone, the nature of true love, and being true to yourself.
(This follows the entire second half of the series, as well as After MASH and slightly beyond. Some of what you will read here draws direct inspiration from the show, and some of it is completely new work.)
