Khun is sitting at the side of Bam's bed when the cough comes back, violently. Khun doubles over as the insides of his throat threaten to become his outsides. Something from deep inside his lungs comes up and splatters on his hands. Khun looks at it, incredulous. It's tiny and long, although no bigger than a centimeter, and covered in blood.
Khun sticks it under a tap of running water, and the blood runs off, leaving a beautiful golden petal.
Golden, as in the exact same shade as Bam's eyes.
By the time that the frog realizes that it's been sitting in hot water, it's too late. The temperature has already sufficiently incapacitated the frog, making it lethargic and weak, hence preventing it from jumping out of the boiling water. All the frog can do is make the best of its last moments.

In other words, a KhunBam Hanahaki Disease AU.
