of dreams, those frigid things
Vex wakes with a gasp, coughs violently. Trinket lifts his head from the floor, blinks sleepily and groans at her in confusion. She sits up in bed, her hair falling in a curtain around her face as she rests her forehead against her knees. Her heart is racing, but already the details of the dream are starting to slip away, and grasping for them is like trying to catch hold of running water.
It's-- it's fine. It was just a dream. Everyone dreams.
Or, the one where Vax is not very persuasive, and Vex deals with the consequences. Or, rather, tries quite desperately to not deal with them.

Orthax may have been the smoke, but there is rarely smoke without fire; the darkness within him that draws such demons close, that lets them take root in his heart, the moral ambiguity that allows him to make those poor decisions, that is all his and his alone, with nothing to blame for it but his own nature. He is not a particularly good man.
Despite this, despite the fact that he has never striven to be wholly honest, neither does he pride himself a liar. What he'd said to Vex'ahlia that day on the parapets was true.
He has lost one family. His heart is resilient, the darkness inside of it lends to that, but he will not sit idle and suffer the loss of another.
Or, the immediate sequel to until all these shiver subside, wherein Vex vanishes, and Percy isn't the best at letting go.
- Part 2 of of dreams, those frigid things
She likes sex, and she likes Percy, and she's quite certain that she'd really like the two of them together. The physical aspect of it, the whole 'insert tab a into slot b,' doesn't bother her, never really has. She lost her virginity relatively young and honestly didn't care enough about it to think on the matter much more, and anyway that's always a saying she's been confused about, losing one's virginity. She didn't lose it because that implies that it's something she can find again, something that she's assigned value to. She fucked someone once and it was the first time she ever did it, and it was clumsy and unsatisfactory and she's since gotten better at it and that's that.
Or, the immediate sequel to kept us awake with wolf's teeth, wherein Vex has a curiosity regarding sex and emotions, Percy is concerned with propriety, the Raven Queen watches, unamused, at the periphery, and there is a happy ending.
Aka, the Smut Fic.
