Who's who in the vampire world

(written 2003, revised as of February 2005)

Before we start this little endeavor, let us introduce you to the cast of characters.

Disclaimer: They may have names you're familiar with, but these are not real people. They're characters in an alternate universe. Nothing is meant to be implied about the real people whose names you'll see here. This is fiction. Absolutely no truth to it whatsoever. Unless there are vampires and you know something we don't.

It began in Camelot. Well, actually, it started long before that, somewhere about the time chaos erupted and started spewing pieces of earth around. But, for our purposes, the first vampires that we care about were in Arthur's court. More on that later, in another post, in which I explain the cosmology of vampires as befits this universe. I was here to tell you who we're playing with.

LOTR connections:
Sean Bean, vampire
Stuart Townsend, vampire
Dominic Monaghan, vampire
Bernard Hill, vampire
Hugo Weaving, vampire
Marton Csokas, vampire
Christopher Lee, vampire
Billy Boyd, human
Elijah Wood, human
Viggo Mortensen, human (for the moment)
Orlando Bloom, human (forever)

Sean, who is somewhere around 700 years old, rode with Marton, Peter Wingfield and Daragh O'Malley (all about the same age as Sean) during the last of the Crusades and became known as The Horsemen (with apologies to biblical scholars and Highlander writers). He and Stuart have been lovers for the last 500 years or so. In this incarnation, circa 2000, he's an actor living in London, although there's an ancestral castle on the North Sea he and the others retreat to on occasion. The vampires have found the acting profession of the late 20th century to be quite a conducive cover. At some point, I'll delve into the whole growing in and out of identities that vampires do. Yes, within RP canon, he does have three ex-wives and three daughters. He also has descendants from mortal daughters born over the centuries. Sean has six natural-born vampire sons:

(I'll explain the concept of vampire birth at a later date ... don't want to overload your senses all in one shot)
Gerard Butler
Patrick Bergin
Dominic Monaghan
Colin Farrell
Hugo Weaving
Tony Blair (yes, the prime minister)

Marton and Daragh both have vampire children, to be named later, although since Marton comes from that hardy Eastern European stock, some of his offspring are rather well-known. *g* Peter and Stuart have no natural-born vampire children.
