Ten Years and a Day

“You. Are far too old. To continue vexing me. In this manner,” Sukuna says in a precise, dangerously quiet tone. He doesn’t need to raise his voice; he knows Yuji can hear him. He knows Yuji can feel his disdain and irritation like a physical touch.
Now, the younger man turns his head slightly, providing Sukuna with a glimpse of his side profile. Nothing more and nothing less. His favored slave replies harshly, “Perhaps you shouldn’t allow these things to vex you, yeah?”
Those words are clearly meant to garner a fatally violent reaction, but Sukuna isn’t going to give the human the one he so clearly wants.
Yuji Itadori has wanted to die for the past ten years and Sukuna will be damned before he rewards bad behavior.

This long dark road, it can't end anywhere good.
Even if Sukuna is capable of moving past all the horror, Yuji can’t. He can’t just wave his hand and forget all his loved ones. He can’t forget his mile long sheet of failures. He can’t forget all the people he watched die.
No, and he doesn’t want to feel.
Yuji’s heart is not for sale. It’s locked and he’s lost the fucking key and he never wants it back.
