Over Truth There is Light
Robin hadn’t had any intention of confessing his affection to Chrom. It would have been a burden, improper, unwelcome and - damnit it all, they were at war. There more important things than his feelings and the impossibility of it.
Of course, it was just Robin’s luck that he would be struck by a curse that forces him to speak the truth.
- Part 1 of Over Truth There is Light
Robin sings in his language to their children, even when he's become afraid to touch them. He's the only one who can get them comfortably off to sleep, the one who soothes them when Marian is too Awkward and Chrom too faltering.
Chrom watches him, lent up against the doorframe to the nursery. 'What if it was my fault?' Robin whispers eventually, breaking the silence that's been building between them.
Chrom takes a breath, having expected this though he wished he was wrong. 'It's not.'
