  1. oh this is SO GOOD!!!! I adore the richness of it, the little details that make it such a real and vivid world (Julian and his beard! the jumja stall! darts in quark's!), and I also adore the weight of it, the very real and difficult questions these women are grappling with, the decisions they have to make. I love the late realisation, along with Kira, that this was never about their personal relationship - it's so much bigger, so much harder than that. and the realisation that while I'd been reading invested in the two of them sorting out their issues and getting together, I'd missed the real question at the heart of it all. beautifully done, I'm in awe.

    1. Thank you so much! I'm very glad you liked all the little details I sprinkled here and there— I think often about post-canon DS9 and this fic in particular ended up giving me a real push to imagine the kind of present Kira is living in in 2386.

One of the things I love the most about this ship is that neither Kira nor Cretak can really exist outside their roles when they are together; they couldn't in canon and they still can't escape this fact here. I'm very glad to hear that Kira's realization works on multiple levels, I worried a lot about it being believable enough and this is literally the best outcome I could hope for!

Thank you again for leaving such a kind comment!
