    I really like Lavender as described by Northumbrian. Somebody calls her “iron hand in the pink laced glove” there. That’s exactly what I was shooting for (or perhaps “Legally Blond”?). One note I noticed somewhere: have you noticed that Lavender Brown was the only student outside of The Trio who helped to collect Blast-Ended Skrewts in their fourth year? She may be gossip and girly, but she was a Gryffindor for a reason. And not every courageous girl must be a tomboy like Ginny or Hermione.

      Haha, I love Legally Blonde. I really like strong female characters. Unfortunately, I feel like there are not much of them in HP canon. Didn't know that detail about the blast-ended skrewts. :) I have never read anything from Northumbrian though, so I will look into that. I also love Lavender in this fic: "Soup-pocalypse and The Great Curry Cataclysm" SquadOfCats. It is Drarry though, I don't know if that is your cup of tea.

        I am a bloke, so I don’t care that much about slash, but I will take a look. Also, My Life as a Teenage Gladiator by 1hellyeahz1. And yes “in defense” stories are very good.
