👆 This! Especially worrying about your regular readers who do not comment on a chapter, and you're even happier when it turns out they were 'just' late. And indeed, it's easier to engage/chat with those readers, because their comments show they like your work and are willing to engage with it.
Definitely agree with these- the regular commenters give me something to look forward to during the day since I usually update in the mornings, and it’s the best feeling to open a comment email and see that it’s them again, even if it’s just a simple comment. The regulars, and even one-off comment leavers, make it feel a lot more personal and even rewarding than kudos (even though kudos are great, and I don’t want to see them go anytime soon).
