Summary
The coolness of the night was a blessed reprieve after the oppressive heat of the Egyptian sun beating down incessantly all day. Kakyoin sighed in relief as he walked through the winding maze of the souk. The crowds here had begun to thin out as well, and for that he was grateful.
His parents had told him not to wander off, and he did hate to disobey them, but it wasn’t like he was going far. He just needed a stroll to clear his head, and besides—he was seventeen, after all. Practically an adult. He didn’t need them to fuss over him. He’d be back before they even noticed that he was gone.
