Summary
The last couple of months had been rough for Katara. Actually, more like the past couple of years. Sophomore year better be good.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Modern high school AU following Katara as she enters her sophomore year and deals with her mother's death, teen angst and frustration, finding her place in the world, typical high school drama and not to mention her not so typical feelings towards a certain angsty upperclassman. A slow burn Zutara fic with lots of bonus fluffy Sukka.

Summary
Master Katara of the Southern Water Tribe is having a rough time after the war. She's not really in love with her partner, her best friend is across the world, and the full moon rises like clockwork.
Zuko is optimistic that there can be a good use for his friend's skills. He refuses to call it a curse, she gets more than enough of that from Aang and Sokka.
At the end of the day, Katara realizes some things, Zuko believes in her, and they lean on one another in a big world made better by tiny hands.

“Kat,” he asked, scooting over to her, “are your teeth chattering?”
Chatter chatter.
“’M’cold.” She gravitated toward him.
“I’ll get you another blanket.”
“No, dummy. Stay. You’re warm.”

Summary
Overcome with the sensation of love for the boy in front of her, Katara placed a chaste kiss on his lips, then flung herself into him so she could bury her head in his neck and hair. They stayed that way for a while, Katara draped over Zuko, petting his hair while he peppered kisses on her clothed shoulder. It was good to be together. In those quiet moments with no advisors, or chaperones, or even friends present, they didn’t have to be Fire Lord Zuko and Master Katara. They could just be Zuko and Katara, how it was meant to be.
Fire Nation nobility are quite particular about their hair. Such coveted locks are not to be touched by anyone, much less the peasantry. Zuko doesn't let anyone touch him at all for fear of being burned. Katara is Zuko's exception to both of these conventions.

Summary
“I thought the Fire Nation was all about the sun.”
“There’s a legend that says that the Sun loved the Moon so much that he died every night just so she could breathe,” Zuko replied, his eyes finding Katara’s even in the darkness of the gardens. “Sometimes us, children of fire, need to show our love for the Moon too.”
