Summary
They catch her off guard, jumping her in an alley despite her best effort to evade their scans, and she tries running, but a hand catches her ankle before she’s even able to think about the safest place to run.
Her only option is to fight, and even though she knows where to strike, she knows what to do, she also hasn’t eaten anything substantial in a week, and it’s starting to slow her down.
It’s a useless fight, but she fights nonetheless. There’s really nothing else she can do, even if she’s only one against a whole Horde.
Catra and Adora are eighteen when the First Wave sweeps over Earth, robotic forces coming out and mining the planet for resources, turning humans into Hosts to help and killing anyone not viable for work.

Summary
Adora and Catra are born two decades into an apocalypse. They grow up together in a military facility as best friends, until Adora finds out the truth about the facility, that she's immune, and then leaves. They're enemies on opposite sides of what's basically a war until Catra finally comes around. Later, Catra questions if you can really be with someone whose death is important for a future to be set in stone.

Summary
The photos don’t do a great job of capturing it, but Adora knows that she saw the she-ra at the edge of the forest that night. Yes, it was twilight and long shadows can play tricks on the eyes, but the meadow was still illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun and the giant mass of blonde fur streaking towards the woods was unmistakable. No other animal on the Etherian Peninsula is that large, and it was clearly running on two legs, not four.
News of the she-ra sighting goes national when the reporter from the Seattle Tribune picks up the story. It quickly spreads from the Tribune to the tabloids and eventually the story ends up in the opening monologue of the Tonight Show. By then, half of America has heard of Adora Gray, the park ranger and wildlife ecologist who claims to have seen the legendary she-ra.
On the other side of the country, a reporter pulls an assignment to spend a month on the Etherian Peninsula investigating Adora Gray and her supposed she-ra sighting. What her editor doesn't know is that she and Adora have a history with the she-ra that stretches back long before news of Adora's photos broke.

“Please, Princess,” the nickname came from Catra’s lips naturally, like she’d been saying it all her life. All it did was make Adora feel cold. “I know you wouldn’t waste your precious time on little old me any other way. You’re an important person, after all.”
“And what are you, if not that?”
“Me?” Catra chuckled. “I’m just a distraction.”

or; It's been twelve years since the lost Princess She-Ra was found. Twelve years since Adora moved across an ocean away from her best friend. Twelve years since her heart broke. She doesn't know how she imagined the reunion going, but it definitely wasn't supposed to be like this.
