“You think this is the worst that could happen to you?” The God-King asks and you can barely think straight, your heart is hammering so hard.
“No.” You say, surprised the words are still coming. “Not by a long shot. But I think I’m pretty committed to my course now.” You look him straight in the eye and try not to lose your nerve. “So are you going to deal or not?”
“For their lives?”
“For their lives.”
“I will take yours.” He says and for one heart stopping moment you think he’s going to kill you. And then it sinks in that, no, he means something far worse. Something you can’t even imagine.
Okay, you've read the tags - I mean them. Everything in the tags happens in this story. This is Loki at his unchained 'I've beaten the Avengers' worst. New York has fallen, the Avengers were unable to close the portal and the reader is a fourteen year old who was in the worst possible place at the worst possible time. I've made the child as genderless as I can to make immersion easier and I can guarantee you that there will be no easy rides for this character. They will not get raped/sexually abused, but might observe it. Any rape/sexual violence will have warnings at a chapter's start.

After his release, Loki realizes something in him is broken and he believes it can never be healed. He knows that by taking his side Thor has exiled himself as well. All around him the first family in Asgard is in turmoil; even the centuries old marriage of Odin and Frigga is shattered. Would it be better if he had indeed died?
Weapons-master Bal enters the brothers' lives to become both support and nuisance - and maybe something other than he seems.
Loki has little left to give but he gives to Thor what he can - his unspoken love.

Issues, Loki has' em. And he has reached a point where death is preferable falling headlong into what he thinks is his destiny. He's brave enough to die - but is he brave enough to live? The unnamed character was based on Eir, Norse goddess of compassion, but she quickly took on a life of her own and whoever she is, I hope she is always nearby.
Just a drabble, but as I work on a long story about Loki and Thor - and redemption and how things are not always what they seem - that moves politely through canon and then breaks out into wild defiance, I needed a bit of hope to carry me through.
As always, I am humbly grateful for anyone kind enough to point out typing, formatting and simple stupidities that apparently have some kind of ability, like Loki, to be invisible on draft and leap out on final post where they can be seen by all.
Evil is not born, it is made. Can two dark souls find the light in each other or will their desire for revenge rip everything apart. Can they find forgiveness and love or will the worlds burn. "I will destroy you in the most beautiful way possible and when I'm done you will finally understand why they call me a MONSTER!!" (Thor: The Dark World with a twist.

The fate of the world sometimes hangs on the flip of a coin, the want of a nail, or the choice of an ally. From that point on, the timelines diverge and can, on occasion, end up in very different places.
In this 'verse, at the fateful moment, Loki didn't choose Hawkeye...

As far as expectations went, pretty much all of Clint's were shattered at this point. He hadn't expected Loki to show up back on Earth. He hadn't expected him to pull minor pranks for the better part of two years before launching into another full-blown world domination plot. He sure as Hell hadn't expected that plot to work.
But it had. The Avengers had lost and Loki had seized control of the world. There were still pockets of resistance, of course, Clint was sure, but they wouldn't last long. The god had too much force behind him, had too much inside information. Without SHIELD, there wasn't much standing in his way, either. So now the team was being held captive by the ruler of the world. Except...things still aren't going quite the way he thought they would.

A series of drabbles, in the Marvel Movie Universe, mostly focused around the Avengers.
Be prepared for Tony being awesome, Darcy being epic, Thor getting electrocuted, Loki wanting to play with Tony - in every sense of the word, Pepper having awesome shoes, and Fury getting migraines. Multiple pairings, nerdy references, and a dryer that actually does eat socks.
