“I have a chicken that escaped her coop and ran away on the road. The police officers on duty laughed and told me to stay home and that they would bring her back. It’s been half an hour and they’re still chasing after her, meanwhile I’m having coffee and watching them and laughing.”

When a severe blizzard blasts through the North, grounding all flights and threatening to close the major highways, Catelyn is stranded in White Harbor International Airport with no hope of getting home to Riverrun before the storm. In an effort to rescue her from staying alone at a major airport, her father arranges for her to stay with a business associate foster’s son. However, she soon discovers her rescuer is her ex-boyfriend’s younger brother. Suddenly, spending a week in an airport might be the less awkward solution to her problem.

where Catelyn Tully finds the love of her life through trial and error, never mind that she hadn’t thought she’d be barely done with her A-levels when it actually happens. If throughout the process she becomes friends with her previously hated neighbor, gets her heart thoroughly broken and tries to keep the family peace together with varying results, she hadn’t imagined that either.

“Hey,” Ashara tells him one day on their coffee break, “can I ask you a thing?”
“Since when you can’t?”
“Touché. Anyway, let’s just be clear here - do you happen to like Cat?”
Ned almost spits his coffee.
“You heard me.”
“Ashara, if I didn’t like her she wouldn’t be living with us?”
“Ned, you know I meant it another way. And not in the ‘well, we’re three people kind of raising two kids all together and have been for six months’ way. I mean in the, you know, she has lovely hair sense. Or, her eyes are beautiful sense. Or, I might not care much for Sunday mass and I don’t get why she goes every week but I’m happy that she looks happier for it when she comes back. Or -”
“Ashara, I think I got it, but -”
“Because if you mean it that way, it’s two of us in our house. And I don’t mean the fascination that our kid has with her hair. Or Robb, for that matter.”
