About Days of Awesome 2010 (DaysOfAwesome2010)

Active since:

The Days of Awe are the period around the Jewish high holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. There are so many fabulous Jewish characters who are so often written on both fanfic and canon as Jewish in name only. This 30-day challenge focused on the days of awe between those two holy days will highlight those Jewish characters and their Judaism.

When? between 18 August and 18 September

Why? ending with the Days of Awe

Why so long this year? People have commitments in September: new school years, for example, and of course the Jewish holidays! This gives more time for fanworks!

Length: Whatever you want.

Pick a prompt list from one of the three below (populated from the Ashamnu, the Yom Kippur recitation of sins, so they are chock full of juicy stuff!), and post seven days of fic, ficlets, fanart, icons, meta, or vids about a Jewish character. Just feature their Judaism in some way or another: religious, cultural, ethnic, family, or any way at all. You want to have Cristina Yang eating kreplach? Magneto remembering his childhood? Kitty Pryde negotiating with Colossus about raising the kids Jewish? Young Greg House at James Wilson's Bar Mitzvah? Go for it.

Post your seven fanworks at any time in the 30 days of the challenge, between 18 August and 18 September. If you only have time to post one or two instead of all seven, do that, too.
