"Today, I stand in front of you all, here to help you through the process of grieving by letting you say your final farewells." The clergy, who stood in front of a crowd mixed of villains, heroes, vigilantes, and civilians, had addressed the crowd as they sat, gathered by the grave that one Touya 'Dabi,' Todoroki would soon be lowered into. "We're all gathered here, to celebrate the life that once was Touya Todoroki, taken from this world before he could prove that he was capable of change."
Takami Keigo sat in the first row of chairs, right beside Todoroki Rei, holding her in a side hug, fearing that if he let go of her, he would put himself in the ground right beside Dabi. He held her, as he held his daughter close to his chest, the baby carrier already helping with that. He felt that if he didn't hold onto someone, he would float away and never come back.
Behind him, sat Himiko Toga, who had already gone and went through the reform process, and now was a civilian with great restrictions placed upon her. Her whole body was trembling as she tried to keep herself from breaking down and sobbing, leaning into the hand placed on her back that belonged to her girlfriend, Uraraka Ochako. She clenched her teeth and sniffled to try and stop her from crying, as the tears were already spilling.
Shimura Tenko and Kurogiri sat beside the two, who were both released for the day seeing as they were both right in the middle of their reform process. Shimura kept his fists clenched, pressing them into his legs as he tried to keep control of his quirk as the funeral started. Kurogiri, ever the well dressed man, showed no emotion, but deep down, every second he sat and stared at the picture of the man he once considered a son, the more that regret and sorrow filled his body, seeping into his bones.
Shouto, who sat in the front, right next to his mother, had his face neutral, not letting himself feel anything. If he did, he was sure he would be tazzed and subdued almost instantly. His emotions had played part in his quirk acting out more and more recently.
Natsuo and Fuyumi couldn't make it, they didn't think they'd be able to sit through the whole thing without walking out to kill their father. Nobody blames them.
"The life of Todoroki Touya was filled with horrors no child should have ever gone through. From the age of four, when his quirk had appeared, his father would take him and train him for hours, not stopping when Touya would throw up blood. Only stopping when he would pass out from exhaustion. He was 'created,' in hopes of inheriting both of his parents quirks, and when he only showed signs of fire, his father tried and tried again till he had a 'suitable,' heir to the Todoroki name." The clergy starts, and Takami feels Rei's whole body tremble as she barely held back her cries, so he pulled her into a tighter hug, one she leant in to. "When he was sixteen, when he had enough of the abuse he tried so hard to stop, Touya faked his death, and adopted the moniker of 'Dabi,' starting his new life as a vigilante. As he grew older, and his quirk started to destroy his body, he slowly merged into the title of 'Villain,' and soon became a very important member of the League Of Villains. As time grew on, after helping them kidnap one Bakugou Katsuki, Dabi soon met our new number one, Hawks."
"Hawks had been given a mission to infiltrate the league, and Dabi took that as a chance to try and escape from the league. Along the way of trying to break free from his past, the two found love with each other. A total of nearly two years later, that love bore fruit. They had a daughter, Takami Phoenix, a name neither of the parents came up with themselves, but from one of their dear friends, who's not of this world any more, Magne."
Takami can't focus on what the clergy was saying, because soon it was time for the finally goodbyes and people to pay their respects.
When it's time to lower the casket into the ground, Takami uses several of his feathers to do it.
And just like that, as Takami Keigo holds his daughter, they say their last goodbyes to the man that meant so much to the both of them.
And if Todoroki Shouto had to drive Takami and his mother back to their respective houses, the new pro hero doesn't say anything.
