I. WELCOMING NEW USERS TO AO3

Recently, the Archive of Our Own has received an influx of new Chinese users, a result of tightening content restrictions on other platforms. We would like to extend our warmest welcome to them, and remind everyone that our committees are working to make AO3 as accessible as possible in languages other than English.

Tag Wrangling has a new Chinese-speaking team helping make works in this language easier to sort and filter, and Translation volunteers have been assisting the Policy & Abuse and Support committees with incoming tickets in Chinese and other languages.

If you're new to AO3, you can check out our recent welcome post, available in 27 languages, including Chinese.

Special thanks for all the hard work put in by Translation, the new Tag Wrangling team, and all the other volunteers who have stepped up to help welcome our new users!

II. ALSO AT THE AO3

Open Doors was excited to announce the upcoming import of Side by Side, a Star Trek e-zine for fanfiction and fanart.

Our Policy & Abuse and Support committees received approximately 1,200 tickets each during May, while Tag Wrangling handled more than 193,000 tags across more than 32,100 fandoms in April.

III. OTW BOARD ELECTIONS COMING SOON

The Elections committee is working hard to ensure everything is ready for the upcoming election season. For more details, please check out the 2019 Election Timeline & Membership Deadline.

Please note that the last date to become a member if you want to vote in this year's board of directors election is 30 June, 2019!
