This is such a satisfying story! I got sucked right in, even though I'm not a Mitchell fan, but then this is a great story for non-Mitchell fans, too. *g*
Anyway, this is so great in a lot of ways - the story structure is so interesting and nifty, with the switching POVs and the timestamps and the framing scene. The characterisation is spot-on, including the way you switched from John to Shannon (loved that the explanation for that came afterwards, btw). The action plot and especially the events in the time bubble had me biting my nails and cheering for the people under siege.
This is going on my comfort-reading list.
