“The powers who run Monumental Pictures, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that the time has come --” Don handed her the script, with a flourish. “-- for the very first all-talking, all-singing, all-dancing, all-star cinematic production of the great master of the stage, William Shakespeare, and I've just come from talking R.F. into giving us the leads. You're welcome.”

Don lands parts for Kathy and Cosmo in Monument's first all singing, all dancing adaption of William Shakespeare. A great little continuation of canon, and things get messy in just the right way.

Monumental Pictures puts on Twelfth Night. It’s wonderfully ambisextrous.

Sadly, there never really was a pre-Code studio film made of Twelfth Night. But we can dream!

“I can't believe Lina stole my chance to make love to Garbo,” mourned Kathy.

“I can't believe Lina stole my chance to make love to Garbo,” sighed Cosmo.

Twelfth Night: just as queer as it's always been, now on a pre-code soundstage. I never knew I needed this.
