Originally posted at my DW journal and written for the word of the day 'mote'.

The least of all his children, some might call them. Small, insignificant, of humble rustic origins, they are as but a mote in his eye compared to immortal Elves or doughty Men.

But he has always foreseen a day would come when they would shake the foundations of the earth, when selfless abnegation paired with unfailing love and devotion would prove mightier than swords, spells or monsters.

They have many names, these two: some given, some gifted. But when the time comes to call them to him, he will use those he knows and loves them by: Frodo and Samwise.
