Losing her had been his greatest fear for as long as he could remember. It was odd that he should be afraid because he wasn’t supposed to have fears. He was the embodiment of fear and him worrying for her seemed completely illogical and out of character, even to himself. Of course, no one except him and her knew that he was afraid of anything. She told him to be strong, to fight the darkness, but he was the darkness and he’d lost the ability to fight it long ago.
