It was their last day of school before mid-year exams and their Music and Drama teacher, Sunny, had asked them what they had wanted to do. Immediately, a group of giggling girls had suggested dancing.
Jimmy trod on one of the girls' foot, which succeeded in little more than a dirty look. The girl made to stand on his foot back, but he stepped out of the way.
Sunny agreed and proceeded to assign them partners.
Cynthia, to her annoyance, was assigned Bobby. Bobby rolled his eyes. Cynthia glared.
"What is that?" Bobby asked. "You putting a hex on me?"
Cynthia choked.
Bobby looked at her, smiled, shook his head.
"You're such an idiot!" Cynthia told him, annoyed.
Bobby shrugged.
Cynthia moaned. "I gotta touch you?"
"I reckon so, miss."
Cynthia glared again. She glanced around at the other pairs and moaned again. She made a face at Gloria for being paired with Jimmy.
"Cynthia, if it'll make you feel better, I'm only contagious on the full moon," Bobby told her seriously.
Cynthia grabbed his hands and glared. "Don't you dare touch anything you're not supposed to!"
Bobby shook his head silently, trying not to smile.
