The first thing Adam Lambert saw when his eyes opened was a white tiled ceiling. Immediately, the sounds of beep beep encountered his ears. He didn’t need to lift his head or ask questions to know that he was in a hospital, inside a hospital room surrounded by noisy machines. How the fuck had he gotten there? And where…
Adam’s thoughts were interrupted when his eyes glanced around the small space, discovering he was by himself in the room. Where was everyone? Where did everyone go?
That’s when he screamed. “Help! Help me!”
A blonde nurse rushed in Adam’s room with a mix of shock and concern upon her face. “Oh my god…you’re awake…”
A frown formed on the patient’s face. “What do you mean by “oh my god… you’re awake”?” Adam hadn’t given the nurse a chance to answer before asking yet another question. “Where is everyone? Why am I here alone?”
The nurse sighed and explained. “Nobody was expecting you to live especially after that horrible accident you were involved in.”
“W-what accident?” questioned Adam reluctantly.
“Now, now, Mr. Lambert, you just woke up… your brain needs a chance to become more alert… too much stress could send you back into a coma…”
“Coma?!” asked Adam stridently, confusion invading his eyes and mind.
“I can’t say anymore, you’re getting too hyper already. Now just rest,” ordered the nurse as she checked Adam’s vitals, fixed his pillows and placed a warm blanket over his body.
Afterwards, the nurse made her way out of Adam’s room, but before she left Adam spoke up with another question.
“W-what year is it?”
The nurse turned and looked at him from the doorway with a simple reply of “2014” and than she was gone.
Adam wasn’t sure how he’d get answers to why he was in the hospital or why he was in a coma. He understood they were protecting him from stress or a possible relapse but at the same time he hadn’t a care in the world. He wanted to know everything from the time he landed in the hospital to when he opened his eyes to 2014.
After a few minutes, Adam glanced over beside him, finding a small wooden table and a telephone. He stretched an arm out covered in wires and multiple bruises, most likely due to a “vampire‘s” needles, and grabbed for the receiver. He held the phone to his ear, listening for a dial tone before punching the code “99” for an outside line and than the number to the house he shared with his boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen.
The phone on the other end rang and rang and rang until finally it was picked up. To Adam’s surprise, the voice that said “hello” didn’t belong to Sauli; it belonged to an elderly woman. What the fuck?
