Maria Hill is an awesome character who doesn't get nearly enough fic.
And I, personally, love the writing style in this. The whole story is a single scene with back-story interspersed as necessary to fill in the details. It's a style I've tried writing before and it's not easy to pull off, to do it this well takes real talent. -

"Drinks on Friday" manages to turn into "Keep Jane From Getting Kidnapped" before anyone gets a glass in their hand, and mid-crisis, Maria takes the opportunity to fear for a future where people wait around to be rescued by heroes and do nothing to help themselves, admire Natasha's lethal grace as she takes down the five men holding the bar hostage, and remember (and do her best to honor) the man who trained her by remembering what he'd said and following through, catching Natasha's back through her own tranq haze, and making her two remaining shots count by hitting her targets before they hit Nat. oooohh, it's soo good. and likely part 1 of ...more than 1. yay!
