    We don't get many stories in this fandom about Eb McCoy's relationship with Harry...and even fewer about his relationship with Harry before Harry was sentenced by the Council. This is a wonderful, wonderful story showing Ebenezar not just as a kickass wizard, which he is, but as a deeply human man who has already lost his daughter and who's desperately afraid that he'll lose his grandson before he even has a chance to know the boy. And Morgan, despite not bending the law one iota, manages to remain IC while supplying both reassurance and restraint.
