Strawberry Thief

Work Text:

Jimin heard rustling in the bushes from outside his window, from his mom's garden. Who or what would go into his mom's garden? Especially at 3am? Then it hit him. The strawberries.

Jimin didn't know how the boy looked like but he learned yesterday from his mom, that the boy next boy really loves strawberries but he didn't know the boy would go this far to eat them. Maybe it isn't him- no it's him, it's definitely him. Jimin thought as he saw the silhouette of him, bending down and picking berries off the plant.

Jimin put on a shirt and random pair of shorts as he ran down the stairs. When he opened the door to his mom's garden, the boy was lying down in the grass, mumbling stuff to himself as he put strawberries in his mouth.

Jimin didn't know the boy's name so he called him the Strawberry Thief. The boy suddenly sat up, his face stuffed with strawberries. They had a stare-down for a few seconds until the boy looked away and started sprinting to the fence.

"It's okay, I'll see you at school tomorrow!" Jimin shouted. His face red from embarrassment. That was the weirdest thing he's ever done.

"Oh my god, Jimin! I miss you so much- I thought I would DIE." Hoseok tackled Jimin from the side and pulled on Jimin’s sleeve, dragging him down.

"I miss you too Hobi," Jimin tried to free his arm but he let Hoseok hug it anyways. Summer vacation was finally over. It was too short for Jimin, it felt like a week passed by instead of 3 months, but he regretted nothing. He played MapleStory, LoL, watch BIGBANG perform, danced, watched anime, drawing pokemon and his favorite anime characters. It was worth it.

Jimin felt a wave of stress on his shoulders. All the projects, presentations, homework, studying, and broken pencils he had to deal with this year made him freak out and it was only the first day of school back.

Jimin's thoughts were broken by a person running into them. As soon as Jimin looked at who it was, his heart starting beating fast. Oh dear.

The boy that ran into them was taller than Jimin, his hair was a bleached pink, messy and the way the boy looked at Jimin made his heart beat even more.

"Sorry," the boy apologized. His voice gave Jimin chills down his spine and goosebumps. He was staring at the boy's eyes until Hoseok elbowed him in the ribs.

"It's cool, we should be sorry, we were standing in the middle of the hallway." Hoseok helped to boy up.

"My name is Kim Taehyung, I'm a second year."

"What a coincidence, Jimin is a second-year too!" Hoseok wrapped his arms around Jimin’s shoulders. "My name is Hoseok but you can call me Hobi. I'm a third year, man I feel old. I'm gonna run before I feel any older, bye guys!"

Taehyung and Jimin waved at Hoseok as he ran into a crowd of people, causing all of them to fall over like dominoes. When Jimin and Taehyung turned to each other, their mouths couldn't make a single sound. Even though there was shouting and talking around them, it felt silent. Jimin mouthed bye and ran away from Taehyung as fast as possible, no matter how many people he knocked down, he was not going to deal with this In the first day.

Jimin saw the seat beside him being taken at the corner of his eyes. Curious, he turned his head. It was Taehyung. Jimin had an urge to punch Taehyung in the face and ask why he's suddenly everywhere but he didn't. Instead he stared at Taehyung intensely. Taehyung awkwardly turned his head and smiled. "Uhh... Jimin right? I'm not good with names so I'm sorry if I get your name wrong."

Jimin opened his mouth and a loud 'baaa' came out. Jimin covered his mouth and looked away from Taehyung, who was very surprised at the response. OH MY FUCKING GOD.

"Are... you okay?" Taehyung raised his brows.

"I'm okay, are you okay?"

"Yeah, are you okay?" What. Jimin looked back at Taehyung who sighed at himself, slapping his cheeks. Oh my god, what a cute dork. Jimin took a deep breath and turned away, dragging his face, weeping quietly to himself. Too cute.

Jimin saw Taehyung everyday suffering. Everytime the boy was smiling and laughing, he fell harder for him. Every time he made eye contact or talk to him, Jimin wanted to kiss him so much. One day they were in the library at the same table, accidentally touching each other's hands and kicking each other's foot, Jimin was ready to drop everything and kiss Taehyung like there was no tomorrow but Jimin distracted himself by scribbling in his notebook, growling, scaring Taehyung. After that, he wanted to punch Taehyung for ruining his life because he was his mind all the time. He was thinking of him so much he couldn't study and almost failed each test they took.

At 2am, a few weeks after the first day of school, Jimin saw the next door boy in his mother's garden again. Even with the wires and fences his mom installed, it didn't stop him. Jimin did not want to go out the backyard and shout at the boy again and embarrass them both so he went outside with a rolled up piece of paper and threw it at the boy.

Stop eating my mom's strawberries.

The boy shook his head.

Jimin went back inside to search for paper and threw a piece at the boy.

I'll give them to you at the doorstep in the morning before I go to school.

"Really?!" The boy jumped up. It sounded like Taehyung but Jimin could be wrong, he was on the other side of the yard and his hearing was abit messed up aftering wearing headphones all summer. "Okay! Cool! You're the best Jimin!" How did he know Jimin’s name? His mom probably told his mom when she went over to their house.

As soon as Jimin woke up, he jumped out of bed and ran to the garden with a small box, the size of a jewelry box. He carefully picked the strawberries and reminded himself which berry not to pick and which to. Jimin went inside and got ready. When he got out of the house, he placed the box in front of his weird neighbor's house with a tag, "For the Strawberry Thief" and drew strawberries.

When Jimin entered the classroom, he saw Taehyung eating strawberries from the same box he gave to the Strawberry Thief that morning. He walked over to Taehyung and tapped his shoulder. "Taehyung right? Or is it the strawberry thief?"

Taehyung held his head and turned around. "Oh hey Jimin...!"

"How long have you been eating my mom's strawberries?"

"A month." Taehyung covered his face. "You should know by now that I can't lie."

"A month?!"

"Oh my god, okay, I'm sorry, my mom doesn't buy me strawberries anymore and when she does, she hides them from me and I got so desperate that I sneaked into your mom's garden. I'm sorry, I understand if you don't want to be friends- here- just- just punch me man." Taehyung shut his eyes tight and waited but he got a soft pat on the cheek.

"You idiot, you could've just asked me." Jimin smiled.

"Huh?" Taehyung pushed Jimin’s hand away. "You're kidding right? You're playing with me, right? Right?" He starting flailing his arms at Jimin. Jimin flailed his arms back in defense, he almost hit his eyeball and his hands almost going into Taehyung's mouth. This was definitely the weirdest thing he’s ever done.

"I'm not gonna hit you, so stop attacking me!" Jimin held Taehyung's hands and pinned him against the desk. His face closing in on Taehyung’s.

"Jimin," Taehyung whispered, his face growing more red every second. "We're in school..."

After the school bell rung for the day to end, Taehyung ran out of there, forgetting his homework. Perfect excuse for Jimin to come to his house. Before he could shout for Taehyung, he ran into Jungkook in the doorway.

"Jimin! Geez, you're so short, I didn’t even see you!" Jimin nudged his fist into Jungkook’s side. "Haha! So why are you running after the new kid?"

"Because I can."

"Did he do something bad? Is he the guy that keeps eating your strawberries?"

"Maybe," Jimin tapped his foot anxiously. "excuse me Kookie~" He slid between the wall and Jungkook and ran to the front entrance, tripping on his own feet.

Jimin knocked on the door, waiting patiently for Taehyung's mom to open the door. When she opened the door, she had a big smile on her face. "Taehyung told me not to open the door, but you look harmless, come inside." Jimin thanked her, walking up the stairs. When he looked down the hall, Taehyung's head popped out his door. "MOOOOOOM!" Taehyung shouted. Jimin powerwalked to Taehyung’s door then ran as Taehyung began to close the door. Luckily, Jimin made it in time and slid between the crack of the door and wall.

Taehyung was on the ground, against the wall, covering his body in a blanket. Jimin chuckled, closing the door behind him. "I'm not here to hurt you, Tae." Jimin sat on Taehyung's lap. He started shaking his legs to make Jimin fall off. "Dude,"

"I know you want to hurt me, just punch ME ALREADY."

Taehyung grabbed Jimin's hand and hit him, but Jimin held his face and went in for a kiss. Jimin finally did it, he's been wanting to do it for weeks but he was panicking because the kiss was too long and now Taehyung knows his secret. He couldn't break the kiss until Taehyung pushed him away. "Jimin..." Taehyung looked him in the eyes. The look shot Jimin right in the heart. He really wanted to punch Taehyung's face for being too handsome and every other reason why he loved Taehyung.

"Y-yeah?"

"J-Jimin... umm... how do I say this-" Taehyung was uncomfortable, shifting his back around. "I- y-your... your thing, it's-"

"Thing?" Jimin looked down. "SHIT.SHIT.SHIT.SHIT." Jimin fell over and rolled away. "I'm so fucking sorry, I have no control over it okay? You should know!" Jimin stretched his face down. He wanted to punch Taehyung's face so bad, he started making horse noises and wailing to the ground. He started beating the floor. Taehyung was freaking out. Was he possessed? Was the house haunted? Is that why the house was in sale?

"OH MY GOD, JIMINNIE, IT'S OKAY." Taehyung ran over and held his shoulders tightly, putting their heads together.

"I JUST KISSED YOU AND YOU JUST FELT MY B-" Taehyung ran his hand over Jimin's face until he shut up.

"I just said it's okay," Taehyung kissed Jimin’s forehead. "because I like you too."

"DO YOU LIKE ENOUGH TO FUCK ME THOUGH? SHIT- I'M SORRY, I MEANT- FUCK."

"I like you enough to marry you-" Taehyung swore under his breath. "Yeah, I like you enough to fuck you..."

"You would...?"

"Not right now, you're being a weird cinnamon roll!" Taehyung hugged Jimin and wrapped his legs around. "I like you, so stop shouting, my mom is downstairs! She can hear us!"

"Shit- sorry- shit- sorry again for swea-" Taehyung pinned Jimin down, sitting on his stomach, and kissed him deeply. He stopped after planting few kisses on his cheeks. "I really want to punch you."

"I gave you a chance."

"I really hate you," Taehyung smiled, staring his pink lips. Jimin covered his face in embarrassment. "It's up again... stop staring at me please, I can't with your eye fucking right now."

Taehyung laughed. "Are you sure you're not doing the same to me?"

"I WILL PUNCH YOU FOR REAL KIM TAEHYUNG. STOP LOOKING AT ME. GET OFF." Jimin pushed Taehyung back, his head landing on his crotch. Jimin's head started spinning, getting more aroused by the second, the atmosphere around him getting hotter. "F-FUCK TAEHYUNG, G-GET OFF MAN."

"YOU PUSHED ME!"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP OR I WILL KISS YOU, AGAIN."

"But I was the one that kissed you?"

"I DON'T GIVE A FLYING BAMBOO STICK."
