To regentzilla: What attracted me to your prompt was the stirring way you described the sense of adventure and vastness that the Ys games conjure up. It's also something I love in a RPG, and something Ys does particularly well. Although the bosses in Ys are hard! And that's something I'm much less fond of.
I loved your fic Noltia but couldn't work out how to draw an ice cave in a stirring, adventure-like way. If I could, I'd have liked to draw the part where Dogi helped Adol to take off his Stone Shoes by the fire and then ruffled his hair. Really nice.
Instead, I took inspiration from your fic and imagined Adol and Dogi together revisiting another scene from Adol's past, right back where his adventures all started in Ys I. Even though it was before Adol first set foot in the tower, and he didn't know it yet, going into that tower was what sent him towards meeting Dogi and having a hundred future adventures by his side.
