“Kareem-kun. Kareeeeeeeem-kun. Are you awake?” Thorton quietly slid open the glass door and stepped into the cool night air of the hotel patio. “Are you ignoring me?”
The dark figure sprawled across the ground shifted slightly. “Go away Thorton. I'm tired of your shit.”
Thorton's eyes traced the other man's shape for a moment, wondering if he should obey his friend's wishes and go back in the room. But no, he had to make things right. He sighed and settled into one of the nearby chairs.
“I guess I'll just wait here till you want to talk.” Thorton propped his chin in one hand and began his wait. Kareem would definitely get tired of him and start talking any minute now. He couldn't just lay there silently forever, could he?
Five minutes passed, then ten.
A quiet snoring started from his friend's corner of the porch. Thorton threw his hands up in frustration.
At the sounds of his friend coming to kneel in front of him, Kareen peeked over the pillow. “You're an asshole, you know that?”
Another quiet sigh from Thorton. “Yeah, I know. Sorry about what happened back there.”
“You didn't have to tell me your feelings in front of all of our friends, you... you baka! Now they all know! How am I going to look them in the eyes for the rest of this stupid convention?” He huffed and buried his face back in the pillow.
A soft hand cupped his face and Kareem's breath caught in his throat. Thorton gently turned Kareem to face him. He panicked. His friends face was so close too close oh god I can feel his breath on my lips and
“You can just look me in the eyes instead, then.” Thorton's voice was barely a sound, but in the stillness of the night a mere inch away from the older man, Kareen could hear every word.
He tried to look away, but Thorton's eyes seemed to capture him and never let go. The heat radiating off his friend's body was both comforting and hypnotizing. Kareem couldn't move. He was trapped by his own body with his face almost touching his psydo-boyfriend's.
“Can I kiss you, sempai?” Thorton asked with a mischevious twinkle in his eyes. He could read the tornado of emotion on his crush's face and he couldn't quite hide his amusement. Kareem was just so cute when he was flustered. “Or are you too tsun-tsun right now?”
“B-baka...” Kareem breathed angrily against the other man's lips before tilting his face forward and meeting his lips.
The kiss was simple and innocent. Almost curious as he waited for some type of magic spark like he'd always read about. All Kareem could feel was the warmth and smoothness of the lips on his. Too soon, Thorton drew away and stood.
Kareen sputtered at the lack of heat and closeness. “Where do you think you're going?! Get back here and keep kissing me!”
Thorton igored him as he padded off to the sliding door, only stopping before he opened it to laugh over his shoulder, “I'll take that as a 'Yes, Thorton, I would love to be your boyfriend!' then?”
He didn't stay long enough for a reply. He didn't expect one and he wouldn't have received one. Kareem stretched out on the ground again, fighting to get back to sleep.
His head was full of thoughts and his heart was full of emotion.
Sleep took quite a while to come.
