Work Text:
It happened when Jeeves and his quite new employer encountered the woman with a tiny infant near the train-station, selling embroidery and flowers for food and a ticket home. Mr. Wooster not only stopped, but spoke, grew distressed for her, bought her wares, giving her not just the change from his pocket, but more money than was practical or believable, offering to buy her ticket to her kin in Cornwall, then giving her his handkerchief. Jeeves did as ordered, purchased tickets, watched as Mr. Wooster helped her onto the train and felt his perspective on his new gentleman change irrevocably.
