There’s a piece of paper he keeps folded up in the pocket of it trench coat, folded so small that it’s a secret only he knows. On that piece of paper are phone numbers, three of them, scribbled very neatly: Dean, Sam, Meg. He still remembers why those numbers are in that order, but the only one he calls is Meg. She’s nice, he thinks, in the way that demons are nice to angels when they’re backed up against a wall, caught between Hell and the Winchesters with Heaven somewhere in the midst of all of that.
