    Summary

In the glade where the star had fallen, the gloom of the gnarled old woods was deeper than night, save around the blackberry bush that had broken his fall: the grass and the battered leaves were now luminous, moon-touched. There was a long pause, broken by the sounds of twittering insects and the forest folk, then, there was a loudly groaned, “Fuck!”

The star rubbed a hand over his eyes, then flinched and held his hand up, spreading unfamiliar fingers up against the night sky. He turned his hand this way and that, curling and uncurling fingers, then he let out a softer, yet just as vehement “fuck!” and sat up, wincing.

This definitely took on a very mythical, magical quality. The tone, treatment, and the sights describe are so nostalgic for some reason, though I can't name a single source those images were from. I kept getting flashes of those airy skyports from Maplestory, and the imagined cities from Christopher Paolini's Inheritance series and a bit of Ghibli at the end; painted, idyllic landscape slowed down with some foreign, whimsical song in the background. Idk how exactly but it makes me want to linger whenever new cities are described.

THE ENDING MAKES ME SAD. I feel so bad for poor Eggsy. I hope he ends up finding a way to keep Harry by his side :( Oh and Harry's blade went to Valentine didn't it. Oh man he's gonna wreck havoc. Or rather, Gazelle would.

I definitely identified Singapore in Stormhold what with all our rules and laws, and meritocracy with ruled from a somewhat monarchy system, how leaders dealt with political opponents and the like (eheh I see the political critique there). Even the fact that it's an island nation and prospered rapidly in 50 odd years hahaha. You did your homework xD

Oh Midsummer is USA isn't it? Free reign magic use like free reign gun ownership. Thinks itself greater than any other nation and beyond reproach, built on stolen cultures (stepped pyramids of the natives? Are those Mayan? Or wait there are others...I can't remember right now.)

Okay idk if you and other prominent writers in the fandom are fellow Singaporeans or not but I keep seeing Singapore appear in Kingsman fics, all over the place. Is it the system? The social engineering? That whole debate about whether we're a "Disneyland with a Death sentence" psuedo-utopia? Unless you're a Singaporean of course, then hahaha good job turning our country into a magical Kingdom. It's wonderfully done.
