(Written for this prompt on the Cabin Pressure meme: After Moriarty dies, someone goes through his stuff and finds a very abused "pet" who may or may not have been a pilot for a small charter airline before he suddenly and unexpectedly turned in his resignation letter. I went light on descriptions of the abuse and heavy on the aftermath.)
