“Hey, Tony?” Tony lifted his head to look at his friend who was sitting on top of the wall he was leaning up against.
“Have you ever thought of running away?” Clint asked, staring up at the sky, his voice trembling slightly when he asked the question
“Sometimes, why?” the brunet answered, thinking of all those times his family had simply forgotten that he existed. He wasn't sure why Clint would want to run away though, the blond never talked about his life, it was just something Tony had come to accept.
“Because I don't know how much more I can take of this. I have a plan to go away.” Clint looked down at him his blue eyes tired and sad.
“Okay...” Tony really didn't know what to say
“I've been working at the convenience store, I've been able to gain a little bit of money and you've got a fast car. Maybe, maybe we could go somewhere. We don't even have to go far, just like the next city or something, just somewhere else. We can get jobs and everything,” He explained, sounding slightly desperate.
“Why?” Tony, couldn't help but ask again. He just didn't understand why the other teen wanted to leave so bad, he always so happy about everything, nothing ever got to him
“.....” his question was met by silence as Clint turned away to look back at the sky
“My old mans got this problem, he just he can't stop drinking. It's all he ever does and my mom left because of it, so now it's up to me to take care of him. That's why I dropped out of school, but I just cant, I cant do it anymore. I’m so tired of it all, Tony. I just need to get a way, because I know that if I don't leave now I will die here!” the blond said all of this staring up at the sky like it was its fault as a tear rolled down his cheek. He was trembling quite violently now and his hands were clenched so tight that he was afraid Clint would hurt himself, but Tony also had the feeling that the blond wasn't telling him the whole story, and probably wouldn't, at least not for a while.
Tony was silent for a moment before he smiled softly. His parents wouldn't miss him. “Let's go then.”
Clint whipped around to look at him, eyes blown wide. “Really, you mean it?”
“Of course I do.”
A giant smile broke out on Clint’s tear stained face and it was the most real smile Tony had ever seen him make. “I'll go get my things!” Clint beamed at him before jumping off the wall and sprinting off.
Tony watched him leave before heading to his place to do the same.
