Old Spice Chaucer

Work Text:

Look at your poet. Now back to me. Now back at your poet. Now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me.

But if he stopped writing alliterative verse and switched to rhyme royal, he could write like he's me.

Look down. Back up. Where are you? You're on a boat--with the poet your poet could write like (and a naughty lady for inspiration).

What's in your hand? Back at me. I have it. It's a pen, ready to write about suffering, honorable ladies instead.

Look again. My verses are now diamonds! Anything is possible when your poet writes like me.

I'm on a pilgrimage.

Special bonus conclusion for fans of Lydgate's Siege of Thebes:

Anything is possible when your poet writes like Chaucer.
