Once upon a time, Killa said that no one should ever vid the Queen song Who Wants to Live Forever for anything but Highlander. As Killa has remarked, I am the kind of person who, when told I should never, ever under any circumstances do a thing, must immediately run out and do exactly that. (Yes, I have vidded both Celine Dion and Holding Out for a Hero, why do you ask?)

Sherlock has inspired a lot of vids recently, most of them identical emo wangst. (Sorry, guys, you know it's true.) The first time you see John at the grave, it's moving; the four thousandth time, it's hilarious. Who Wants to Live Forever is used in a similarly over-the-top way by Highlander. I couldn't initially remember whether Killa had mentioned that song or Princes of the Universe. And then it occurred to me: why not vid them both.

I'm probably over-explaining here, but I hate it when everyone's laughing at some in-joke I don't understand, so for those of you going "WTF?": The first half of the vid is a parody of both angsty post-season 2 Sherlock vids and all of the Tragic Lost Love montages from Highlander. The second half is a pretty direct parody of the opening credits of Highlander: the Series. (Season 4? The one with Anne that I found first on Youtube while I was making this.)
