Work Text:
Sherlock danced the night away in Lestrade’s arms. He’d had a bad time of Christmas and, for once, he craved the physical affection his lover was always willing to give. They kissed softly at midnight.
-
Anderson turned up with his wife, and they spent the evening in a stony silence. When Big Ben declared the new year, they both said ‘we can’t go on like this.’ They left firmly holding hands.
-
Dimmock had met his dream man on his first case with Sherlock, and his life had been wonderful ever since. The wolf-whistles sang out as they kissed passionately under the obligatory mistletoe.
-
Sally and Gregson started the night by coordinating the evening’s pranks. No one guessed that they’d be going home together, brought together by laughter.
-
By the end of the night John had danced with every woman in the room and was working his way through the men. Then a shy-looking secretary called Mary plucked up courage to ask for a proper kiss.
-
Molly had been invited by Gregson. Mycroft and Anthea had invited themselves to assess Sherlock’s associates. Neither were quite sure why they invited Molly back to their house with them, but it all worked out perfectly in the end.
-
No one woke up the next day to an empty bed.
