Work Text:
Renee sighed dreamily as she walked offstage to her seat. She grabbed her notebook, opening it to the fiftieth page.
"Hey guys." Riley called, motioning them to another one of his inventions. Ryan, followed by Kid, Stacy and Gloria. "Guys," he continued, "this your lucky day! You have the honor of seeing the very first demonstration of Riley's Scoop-o-Matic! It scoops, it dips, it even has speed control!"
"Aw, come on!" Kid said.
"Those things never work." Gloria called.
"Renee! Come here, you've gotta see Riley's new invention!" Stacy yelled.
"Coming." Renee sighed, never once looking up from her notebook.
"Aw, Riley, come on! You've gotta be kidding!" Kid said.
"No, Kid seriously, this is gonna revolutionize the soda fountain biz!"
"Renee! Come and watch!" Stacy reminded her sister.
"Coming." Renee said again.
Stacy sighed, turning back to the counter. Add-o-lessons be darned she thought.

"He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not…" Renee sighed as she walked past Ryan. "Hi, Ryan…" she said quickly.
"Renee?" he asked a puzzled look on his face. He watched in awe as Renee ran right into a pole, yes, a pole. She automatically fell back on the ground, her notebook and flowers spilling onto the ground. "Renee!" Ryan yelled, running to help her up.
"I hit a wall." Renee said, recovering from the fall.
"No, a pole." Ryan corrected. He grabbed her notebook up, a page fell out. Renee + Jules it read. Ryan smiled. That was the reason Renee was acting like an idiot! She was in love! With Jules! With Jules? He asked himself. It seems Renee was pretty enough to find someone better than Jules. He helped her up. Handing her belongings back to her.
"Bye, Ryan." She said again, continuing picking her flower petals off the stem. Ryan sat back down on the bench and smiled.
Later, Ryan sat inside the P*lace eating his ice cream. He had expected her earlier for their study time on the latest and hardest English assignment, even going as far as to order her some ice cream. When she finally walked through the door, she was still pulling petals from her flower.
"Um, Renee, I'd rather you not pull those petals off and through them on my floor." Riley said.
"Hi, Riley." Was Renee's reply. "Hi, Ryan." She said as she sat down and began to eat her ice cream with a fork.
"Um, Renee?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah, Ryan?" replied Renee senselessly.
"You're eating you're ice cream with a fork." He said.
"Oh, you're right. Bye, Ryan." She said, running through the door. Renee creeped behind an outside bench as Jules walked by. Ryan sighed.

"I guess I was acting pretty silly." Renee admitted, blushing a bit.
"Well, if you consider walking into poles and attempting to eat ice cream with a fork a little silly, then yeah." Ryan replied, he and Renee shared a quick glance and smile. He laughed a bit, Renee was pretty uptight when she wanted to be, but her being reckless? Something only love could do. Only love.
