Work Text:
No one notices a sleeping blonde curled up in the back of the store, perched on the end of a sofa like a kitten. They turn the lights off and lock up, none the wiser.
The next morning, Yukimura arrives and goes through the checklist, examining each item and marking anything that needs ordered, replaced, or removed. He's halfway through when a knock comes on the front window. He sets the clipboard on the counter and heads to the door.
“It's early for you, Kabaji-kun,” he says, poking his head through the door to talk to the gentle giant.
Kabaji nods. “Have you seen, Jirou-kun?” he says in a quiet voice that belies his physical stature.
The manager shakes his head. At least, he doesn't remember seeing Kabaji's perpetually sleepy friend. Nor can he recall a time that Jirou wasn't attached to Kabaji's back. He opens the door more and lets the university student in.
“You can't tell anyone I let you in, okay?” he says teasingly. “You can look around if you want.”
“I won't tell,” he says and looks around the various seats before finding the sleepy blonde. He scoops Jirou up into his arms and over his shoulder.
“You found him. How curious,” Yukimura says and makes a note to talk to Fuji about closing duties.
“Thank you, Yukimura-kun,” Kabaji says and leaves. Yukimura locks up after him and finishes his checklist. Strange, the chocolate mousse is gone.
