    Summary

    In a move that shocked both friends and enemies, Sentinel Danny Williams left his territory to be close to his daughter. The Sentinel Center had serious concerns about that, since relocation of a sentinel is never a good idea, and hadn’t happened in decades. But Danny was stubborn, and since there was no active sentinel on the Hawaiian islands at the time, neither the Center nor anyone else could forbid him from going. Nobody, least of all Danny, thought he’d meet his guide in Hawaii. But his experience – he had previously found a guide but had been unable to bond – has made him hesitant to trust his own instinct.

    Steve has worked with sentinels and guides before in the military, but he never thought he might be a guide. In fact, when Danny doesn’t make a move, Steve begins to think he drew the wrong conclusion entirely. He tries not to be disappointed. But when he finds out he was right all along, he will do everything he can to persuade his sentinel to bond with him.

    Start of a series about how Sentinel Danny and Guide Steve meet, re-doing the starting up of the new of Hawaii Five-0.

    First part is complete, and follows the canon Hesse storyline fairly closely, except for the Guide & Sentinel details. (You don't need to know The Sentinel canon to follow the story; it's mostly self-explanatory.)

    Good story so far, well written. First part is gen, but the series looks like it's heading for slash eventually. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.

    Complete, long, well-written plotty romance. An excellent Sentinel AU with Robert Downey Junior's Sherlock as a powerful Dark Sentinel in London and Jude Law's Watson as a powerful, newly-awakened Guide just returned from Army service in Afghanistan.

    In a universe where Sentinels and Guides are known, Holmes and Watson still break all the rules and give Lestrade grey hairs.

    There are several side-plots, lots of politics, teamwork, crime fighting, empathy, Sentinel-type spirit world & visions, and hot sex at the end.

    Complete. Well-written, cute Steve/Tony story, with the Avengers (old and new) as supporting cast. Lots of good team interactions, mostly in-character. Hurt/comfort story, but not too much pain and no gore. Good plot, nice pace, happy ending.
