Summary
Eons ago, there was a (tragically well-meaning) hostile takeover in Heaven. It didn't cause much damage: just the Great Fall, the crucifixion of Jesus, and the near-destruction of Earth. The Almighty discovers through her emissary on Earth and his adversary/sometimes conspirator that knowledge truly was a gift, and balance can save the world.

Crowley has had enough.

Summary
Centuries ago, centauri and men warred over everything: territory, food, women, and above all else, love. At the height of the Wars, men discovered fire and gunpowder, where centauri, in turn, mastered archery and metalwork. Desolation and destruction reigned for hundreds of years. Humans were imprisoned. Centauri were captured. Both were enslaved until those with the courage to stand up and fight for what they believed in changed the course of the world forever.
Since then, centauri and men alike have learned to co-exist. Centauri are accepted everywhere that men are, building up a society that benefits from shared knowledge. However, traditional centauri are distrustful of everything man-made and continue to live in herds across the planet, preferring to live off the earth and hunt for their food. It is their way of life and it is one that is slowly dying out as the young seek opportunities in the built great cities.
This is the tale of Erik, leader of the Lehnsherr herd, navigating the pitfalls of modern day as he learns how to become a sociable centaur in order to woo his beloved Doctor Charles Xavier after a fateful meeting brings them together.

An accident...
There was an accident.
Next thing he knows, Erik is a ghost trying not to fall through the floor (or maybe through the ceiling – he can hardly keep track) of a hospital while his body lays comatose in bed. Then a doctor named Xavier is blabbering on to him about how he’s so bloody sorry that Erik saved his life and a little blond ghost of a girl is making him promise to stalk her older brother in order to protect him from a possible prophecy straight out of every cliché movie Erik has ever watched.
So, there he is, Erik fucking Lehnsherr, ghost and comatose patient to a blabbering doctor named Charles Francis Xavier, sworn to protect him from the ever-constant threat of the world (and probably himself).

Summary
It's March of 1963 and Charles Xavier's life seems to be falling into place. Sebastian Shaw is dead and he, Erik, Moira, and their team and young pupils are well on their way to opening their mutant school for fall enrollment.
Everything would be perfect if it wasn't for the childhood nightmares that Charles keeps accidentally projecting to the house, the odd dreams that leave him sleepwalking through corridors that haven't been used in decades, and the children's insistence that the house is haunted by a ghost that roams the halls at night. Erik thinks Charles is seeing things, Moira is afraid that the strange occurrences have something to do with the mysterious man trying to woo her, and Charles just wants proof that it's not all in his head.

Summary
Inspired by, but not actually a fill for, this prompt: Charles/Erik Unwanted sub: There are stories where Charles is Erik’s sub and they are both happy, but what about some more angsty theme? AU where mutants and humans live together but mutants think themselves more important and often treat humans like dirt. Sub/Dom pairs are created by imprinting. Mutants generally imprint on mutants and Erik who is the most powerful among them thinks that he will have equally powerful sub. Turns out that he imprints on Charles – a brilliant yet entirely human Professor.
The moment of imprinting: overpowering, irresistible, and most importantly, uncontrollable. As Charles and Erik are about to find out.

Charles is human but still fighting for the mutant cause. Imprinting happens, and of all the people to imprint on Charles, it's Erik, who is furious because as one of the main leaders of the cause, how can he possibly imprint of a human?

What could possibly make Charles turn from his path, sour the dream of having a school for mutants? Erik? Not really, because things are never black or white and sometimes you learn the hard way who you can trust with your life as well as your hopes for the future. It's a little heart breaking, but in all the good ways, it's a look at what might happen when the world learns of mutants. For better or worse, Charles might not be allowed to have what he wants, but it doesn't mean he'll just give up.

Bookmarker's Notes
At age five, Spock informs his mother that it is illogical to wish him “sweet dreams” at bedtime because Vulcans do not dream. “Oh, Spock,” she says.
The disjointed back and forth should be confusing but it manages to convey the story and grow like vines into a thick, solid story. Unhurried, picturesque and aching.
